![]() ![]() ![]() Sorry to burst everyone's bubble, but I didn't want anyone else to get the same false hope I did when I was looking up 3DS save data backups. If you want multiple playthroughs, you have to buy another copy of the game or overwrite one of your current save files. But the point is we shouldn't count on being able to back up and restore our HM:ANB games saves anytime soon. Who knows, the 3DS could be hacked tomorrow or next month or 5 years from now. So unfortunately, the outlook for 3DS games saves is not terribly optimistic right now, but then all progress toward it is being kept very hush hush (for good reason). ( here, here, here) If you are curious as to why this is the case, I can point you to gbatemp and you'll have to do your own research there, because I'm still piecing together an explanation for myself (try starting here) basically what I've gleaned is, the data on the cartridges is encrypted and the encryption hasn't been broken yet, so we can't even tell where on the cartridge the save data is saved, let alone have the ability to write to it. Long story short, it is not currently possible to restore game saves onto a 3DS cartridge. For Harvest Moon DS: Sunshine Islands on the DS, a GameFAQs message board topic titled Data Erased. Just in case anyone has stumbled across a device like this and got the idea in their head that they can use it to have multiple HM:ANB playthroughs, I wanted to set things straight before you relied on this and started planning out your current and future save files accordingly like I did. ![]()
